TRE Schnoz Goblin

Does you escape room take game completion photos? Success, failure photos?

We wanted a quick way to transfer photos from the digital camera to a computer for posting to social media and sharing.

We purchased a used Nikon D5000 with a kit lens (F3.5-5.6). I’m a Canon camera person, so buying a Nikon was out of character, but I found Nikon cameras take better pictures indoors with an on board flash.

The Nikon D5000 uses an SD card. The SD card is key. We are using a 16GB Eyefi Mobi Pro SDHC memory card. This card has built-in WIFI and can be setup to automatically transfer photos taken on the camera to a computer. Note: don’t use an SD to compact flash adaptor in a camera that only supports compact flash memory cards. The WIFI reliability is spotty at best.

In our setup, the transfer location on the computer is a Dropbox folder. Once download from the camera to the computer, the computer uploads the pictures to Dropbox. Our entire organization then has immediate access to the photos for sharing and marketing.

We mount the camera on a tripod to help with stabilization and to help insure picture quality.
